Have you ever wanted to get your hands on the latest malware for researching purposes? Well “theZoo” is a repository of LIVE malware. This shouldn’t be for the beginners as if you run the malware you may get infected even if ran in a Virtual Machine there’s still a risk. 

This will be a linux tutorial (using Debian). Open terminal type: git clone https://github.com/ytisf/theZoo

now go to the directory type: cd theZoo

to run it type: python theZoo.py you will see this warning message

type: Yes you will see this screen

type: list all

to see all the modules available

Now say you want to search for malware thats unlisted. type: search example.

Now lets say you want to download one. type: use then put the ID #

Say you want info about the selected malware type: info

Finally to download the selected malware of your choice, type: get

To update database type: update-db

    • Can these be ‘customable’?, like can we edit and adjust?

      Example, crytolocker, can you edit to control it?
